Dörte Stevenson is an independent consultant with over 25 years of success in the Higher Education sector. She is widely respected for her expertise in global institutional partnerships, staff and students’ international experiences, transnational education, institutional internationalisation strategies, and marketing and communications in Higher Education. Her clients include international and national organisations, universities and private companies.

Prior to becoming a Consultant, Dörte was Assistant Director (Partnerships & Global Opportunities) within the department of Global Engagement at the University of Sheffield where she worked for 17 years. She led on building, maintaining and nurturing strategic international partnership development and collaborations for the institution. More widely, she supported the implementation of the University’s Internationalisation Strategy and advised faculties on their international plans and activities. To ensure that more students would have an international experience as part of their Sheffield degree, she initiated and then managed the University-wide Your Global Sheffield initiative, which resulted in a holistic approach and offer of all international opportunities at home and abroad. She led the team which was responsible for the University’s Erasmus+ scheme, one of the most active and successful in the U.K. Higher Education sector.

In previous roles, Dörte managed international work placements and worldwide exchanges at the School of Management at the University of Bath for six years and has held several positions within public relations, marketing and arts management. Dörte studied at the University of Tübingen, Germany, and at Durham University, from where she holds an M.A. She speaks fluent English and German.
