Louise Banahene MBE

Chair, NEON Working Group on Widening Participation in Postgraduate Study - Director of Educational Engagement, University of Leeds

Louise Banahene is Director of Educational Engagement at the University of Leeds. She provides leadership on the University’s access and student success strategy including outreach, contextual admissions and changes to structures and process to close gaps in continuation and degree awarding gaps. In 2017 she was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to higher education.

Louise work on access and student success across all levels of study and has in 2017 led an OfS funded project to increase participation and success in taught postgraduate study. She is also the co-Chair of the NEON postgraduate Diversity working group working with HE institutions and organisations from across the country.
