Michael is a ground-breaking charity leader & former senior advisor to government on how to strengthen the role of charities. He has a wealth of experience and strategic expertise in leadership, fundraising, grant-making, marketing & communications, business development & charity partnerships. Michael has led charity fundraising to create over £70m of new income for charities over 20 years.
Currently, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire Community Foundation. CCF brings together people who want to help the local community, with projects that make a real difference. In 2020/21 CCF awarded over £4m grants to front-line charities and voluntary groups who support thousands of local people.
Michael was the first UK Crown Representative for the Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector. Working from the Cabinet Office, his role was to to increase charitable income and their role in public services and to improve relations between the sector and government.
