Dr Simon Merrywest leads a Directorate that is responsible for managing the central student facing services at The University of Manchester, including international student recruitment and development; student admissions and administration; campus life services; teaching and learning support; discipline, appeals and complaints and residential services.
Simon has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Dundee and a Neuroscience PhD from the University of St Andrews. He initially joined the newly formed University of Manchester as a Research Manager but has done a number of roles, including as the appeals and complaints manager in the Faculty of Life Sciences. Simon became a Director of Faculty Operations in January 2011, latterly in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health, before becoming the Director for the Student Experience in October 2017.
